The Tribe of Influencers have released the full list of nominees for the Zimbabwean Social Media Awards. The Zimbabwean Social Media awards are elusive accolades recognising and rewarding the most influential Zimbabwean social media personalities. Nominations were submitted by the general public earlier this year. Over 800 nominations were received. A panel of judges was then tasked with evaluating the nominations. The judges, namely Nigel Mugamu (263Chat), Garth Jones (v360 Africa), Paul Brezhnez Malaba (DatCitizen Creative Group), Eunice Jenje (Quill Advertising and Marketing) and Brett Goosen (Jericho Advertising) scoured through the nominees to shortlist the top ones in each category.
“The judges that we picked are experts in their respective fields. In addition to Nigel, who is a social media fundi, we partnered with the Creative Directors’ Forum (CDF) to provide us with judges who understand the value of social media influencers. We had them go through the social media accounts for the nominees to come up with the final list of nominees.
However, the eventual winner will be determined through public votes
said Kudzanai Thondhlana, Business Development manager at Tribe of Influencers.
Voting for the Zimbabwean Social Media awards will be done on the website from the 8th of October 2018 and will close on the 30th October 2018. These awards are being held by the Tribe of Influencers, who earlier this year hosted the Zimbabwean Blog Awards.
The Zimbabwean Social Media Awards are primarily meant to highlight or raise awareness on the marketing value of referrals or third party endorsements. We want the brands to know that influencers exist in Zimbabwe and that they can prove their reach by mobilising their followers to vote for them
