Remember when we told you to watch out for The Vinnie King moving on? Yeah, look at what he did now. After successfully dropping a banger of an EP dubbed born International few months back, the King just remixed Ambitiouz Entertainment’s wonder kid’s song Zimbali. After remixing Prince Tendai’s ‘character’ in his EP, he didn’t limit himself to local boundaries but crossed the border down south to sample A Reece’s song Zimbali. Basically what he did was change the lyrics of the hook so that it says Zimbabwe, then added verses that are relevant to Zimbabwe. The Hook goes something like this:
Mirror mirror on the wall, can you tell me who’s the realest?
I heard you hating on a boy, I got you all up in your feelings.
And I just woke up in Zimbabwe x3,
So now you know where to find me.
What The Vinnie King does to the track is Ah-Mazing. Naturally he can fuse components of reggae and Rnb to produce lyrics that compliment any beat, exactly what he did here. Besides giving S/O to his country’s townships, Vinnie encourages listeners to pursue their dreams and push. To further prove that never let anything stop you from dreaming big and chasing your goals, he uses the song to express how he would love an A Reece feature in the near future. We caught up with him and asked why particularly this track and also why A Reece and this is what he had to say:
When I heard A Reece’s Zimbali track I thought he was saying Zimbabwe and to be honest I was really inspired because he a young King doing it and to also show love I thought I should do the Zimbabwe remake. I would love to work with the young King, he one of my fav acts from South Africa.
His creativity overflowed even to the art cover of the single where he used a Victoria Falls backdrop (yes Zambia this is your track too). You can stream and download the remix here. We hope to review the A Reece x Vinnie King sooner.
